2017 Evening Presentation
The Evening Presentation & Dinner was an chance for the committee of BSPS Area 4a to get to get together with our members to celebrate the 2017 season.
The annual black tie event at Kedleston Golf Course was a fitting setting to celebrate the achievements of our young riders who grasped the opportunity to dress up in their party dresses and evening suits.

The activities got off to a magical start when Santa’s beautiful horse drawn sleigh arrived, laden with Christmas gifts for the children. Our heartfelt thanks must go to Amy Cook and William Sonnex for making it happen - it really was a sight to behold.

After a 3 Course meal, a quick game of heads n’ tails and pass the parcel - the Area Points winners were announced. Special thanks to Mrs Jean Andrew who headed up the prize giving to a backdrop of a photographic slideshow. As Mr James Leavesley deftly swept through the roll call, it became apparent we are honoured to have some promising young talent in our midsts. We welcomed many new members, several of which had competed at their first ever BSPS shows this year. We recognised the huge successes of those children who had formed great partnerships with their ponies and we look forward to seeing these bonds grow in the coming season.

The Special Recognition Award went to Miss Brooke Pickering (12) who was a very worthy winner. Brooke has had an amazing 2017 season with Pip; being selected for the England WHP Team at the BSPS Summer Championships and qualifying for both the RIHS and HOYS in their first full season together. Brooke went on to finish a very credible 7th in the 133cm WHP final Hickstead and then stood 6th in the line up on her inaugural trip to HOYS. It was little wonder that Brooke and Pip then scooped the Area’s Supreme Working Hunter Pony title for 2017.

An Auction then followed with some great lots available - from a day with The Meynell & South Staffordshire Hunt, Rugs from The Ranch Store, A Whole Lamb, Uttoxeter Racecourse Premier Tickets, Golf at Little Aston and Board Room Tickets to DerbyCounty FC.

A big vote of thanks to our members and their children who behaved impeccably. Also our grateful thanks to our donors and sponsors who support us throughout the season.

Congratulations to our long standing member Emmie Collier who has a new role within the BSPS. Emmie is now one of the England Team Selectors. So well deserved!
